So I’m Quilting My Heart Away!

Quilting my heart away,

Piecing together a quilt of memories that day.

Weaving the fabric so crisp and white,

Exploring with my hands its intricate delight.

Painting each stitch with love, care and attention,

Layering it out as a work of affection.

Creating a patchwork of our past,

Making sure that nothing is left out at last.

Choosing the right fabrics to display,

Piecing them together in a delightful array.

Colors and textures colliding and blending,

Assembling the quilt I’ve been endlessly tending.

Tying each piece together with a single thread,

Knowing that this quilt is something to be said.

Lifting it up in my arms as I hold tight,

I can feel the love of all those memories in flight.

As I snuggle beneath the quilt and reminisce,

I am reminded of all that has gone before us.

This quilt is a way to keep our memories alive,

A hug from the past that will never arrive.

So I quilt my heart away,

Piecing together a quilt of memories that day.

A reminder of those we loved and lost,

A warm embrace in the cold winter frost.

And as the years pass by,

My quilt will still remain,

A lasting tribute to all that has gone before,

That will never be forgotten anymore.

This quilt is my legacy, an heirloom of sorts,

A reminder of the love that I still carry in my heart.

From it I find solace and comfort when I am feeling low,

And remember all the good times we shared long ago.

So I’m quilting my heart away,

Piecing together a quilt of memories that day.

A reminder of the people who meant so much to me,

Embroidered into this work of art for eternity.
